Arrived back in the UK after 17 hour, 123 NM trip from Haringvliet in Holland. We departed at dawn and had a few minutes delay locking out but were sailing out of the channel by 05:30. Winds were favourable once again allowing an average speed of over 7kts. Final leg into Harwich with increasing winds required a reef before we motored the last 5 miles, arriving at a mooring a little downstream from Pin Mill just in time for sunset.
This is the first time I have had my boat in the UK since June 2004. It seems strange to see so many red dusters!
Very pleasant welcome at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club.
